After 12 years of experience in public education, I am delighted to partner with parents who are dedicated to providing a meaningful and personalized education for their children. I look forward to getting to know your family and understanding your unique needs, so I can provide tailored support and guidance to help your child thrive.

More about me:

I love learning, traveling, and spending time with my husband and daughter. My husband and I have a goal to visit all 50 states. We also love to visit National Parks and National Historic Sites. We vacation a bit nerdy and love to learn about history when we travel (and see beautiful sights).

I earned my undergraduate degree from Hope College in Holland, Michigan. I taught in public education in west Michigan for 12 years, mostly with secondary students. I have extensive experience working with students with ADHD and learning disabilities and thoroughly enjoy this work. I also really enjoyed collaborating with, encouraging, and coaching general education teachers in order to better understand and serve students with different needs and learning styles. This has led me to my new passion for coaching parents in their homeschool journeys.

I have also worked extensively with English language learners, particularly long-term language learners whose first language is Spanish. This led me to pursue my master's degree in TESOL which I earned from Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I am fascinated by the way that language impacts identity and relationships. My husband speaks Spanish as his first language and we are working to raise our daughter to be bilingual.
